Overall, the examples help to deliver the National Literacy Strategy Framework in a varied and interactive way. There is a range of teaching and learning approaches across the examples. They tie in well with examples in the Grammar for Writing resource used by all KS2 teachers.

Enhancing Mathematics
The examples provide a good illustration of the use of ICT to enhance the teaching of mathematics. There is clear guidance on the impact that ICT can have on childrens mathematical knowledge, understanding and skills and on practical issues of classroom organisation. The examples model the recommended planning process from the National Numeracy Strategy.
Example 1 R/Y1: Reception 'Talk about, recognise and recreate patterns'
Example 2 Y2/Y3: Describe positions and directions.
Example 3 Y5: Make turns and recognise rotations make patterns by rotating shapes.
Example 4 Y6: Solve a problem by extracting and interpreting data in tables, graphs and charts.
Enhancing Science
The four examples show a good range of when, when not and how to enhance science teaching using ICT. They show effective links to the national curriculum for science and the QCA scheme of work for science.
