The example statements will be helpful to generate thinking. Prioritising exercises and ordering statements can prove useful in the process of forming the school's individual statement. It is reassuring when statements can be identified as being in existing school policies and confidence building when good practice examples fit with the school's own aspirations. It is certainly easier than starting with a blank sheet of paper and can prove to be a worthwhile exercise in awareness raising and engaging in meaningful debate, as well as providing the text of a statement.
